The US is the ONLY industrialized nation that does not have a single payor health care system for all citizens. And, the limited one that we do have for our seniors, Medicare, is extremely popular amongst those who benefit from it. Although it’s generally a success, Medicare is managed poorly so that insurance companies (and others) gouge and scam money from the system. Currently, the US pays the most for healthcare and gets the worst results among industrialized nations. Colorado had a chance to pass Amendment 69 in 2016. Establishment Democrats trashed this citizens ballot initiative such that it failed at the polls. Colorado legislators tried (failed) to simply study the issue with HB1209. Leadership on this issue is going to have to come from us, the voters. Let’s demand action NOW!
